Halloween Disco 2025

Last Friday afternoon the 31st of October, our school came alive with witches, vampires, ghosts, princesses, and superheros for our annual SPOOK-tacular Halloween Disco!

The multipurpose room was transformed into a spooky dance floor with flashing lights, cobwebs, and plenty of Halloween decorations.  Many thanks to all the parents who volunteered their time and creative talents to transform the space and make it truly magical!

Everyone BOO-gied away to the music in their scary costumes and had a blast playing games such as Musical Statues and Limbo.  Medals were awarded for best costumes, including the spookiest and funniest outfits.  The haunted photo booth was a highlight, allowing students to pose with friends in front of a spook-tac-ular background!

What a wonderful and fang-tastic afternoon enjoyed by all!

Henny Penny Hatchery Visits PrepD!

Our Prep students have had an egg-citing experience over the past week with a special visit from the Henny Penny Hatchery!

Students were thrilled to observe the fascinating life cycle of chickens right in their own classroom.  The eggs arrived safely in an incubator, and over the next few days, everyone eagerly watched and waited as tiny crack appeared.  Soon, the chicks began to hatch one by one.

Before the chicks hatched, each student carefully chose a name to go into a hat.  Then, every time a new chick arrived, one name was drawn to give it its very own special name!

Our fluffy new chicks were named Tapu Koko, Jarrod, Fin, Fluffy, Adorable, Cutie Pie, Mia, Sleepy, Cotton Candy, Meeka, Cutie, Princess, Shelly, Polka Dot and Sheepy.

The children learned all about how chicks grow inside their eggs, how to care for them once they hatch, and what they need to stay healthy and happy.  They also got the opportunity to gently hold the fluffy new arrivals.

The Prep students have loved welcoming their feathered friends and watching them grow each day!

Poetry Incursion 2025

On Tuesday the 28th of October, our students were treated to a fun and engaging performance called 'Before You Know It, You'll Be a Poet!'.  The interactive show brought poetry to life in way that had everyone laughing and joining in!

The performer shared clever wordplay and funny poems with puppets, props and his own unique style connecting nursery rhymes with slam poetry, a lively type of spoken word poetry performed competitively on stage.

Each poem was brought to life with bright costumes designed to capture the attention of the audience.  Whether the poem was new or old, funny, or serious, it was performed with something extra like an illusion, music, or acting.  There was always something exciting that kept the students interested!

SWPBS Focus: Sharing Space and Equipment

Over the next two weeks, our SWPBS focus is on Being Respectful and Responsible by Sharing Space and Equipment. At school, we have many shared areas and resources, and it’s important that everyone can enjoy them safely and respectfully.

Students are learning to:

By following these expectations, we help create a positive and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome and respected.
