Grade 6 Graduation, Academic Excellence Awards and School Leader for 2025

Last Friday night the 13th of December KHPS held our Academic Excellence Awards, the 2025 School Captains and Leaders were announced and we farewelled our Grade 6 students.

The evening began by celebrating the outstanding academic achievements with the presentation of the Academic Excellence Awards.  These awards recognise students who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and passion for learning.  Well Done to our award recipients!

Next, to add to the celebrations we proudly announced our 2025 School Captains and Leaders!  These students were chosen for their leadership qualities, dedication, and school spirit. Congratulations!

Finally, the spotlight turned to our Grade 6 students, as we celebrated their graduation.  This special occassion for our Grade 6 students was a way for us to recognise their time at Karingal Heights PS.  Many proud family members, friends, and staff came to honor the achievements and growth of our graduating class.

On behalf of our school community, we would like to congratulate all of our 2024 Grade 6 students on all they have achieved during their time at primary school and wish them all the best for their futures.  We would like to make a special mention to Shreya and Liam who have made it into McClelland College's Elite Performance Program.

We also farewell the Nourallah family and thank them for being a part of the KHPS school community.

All of our Grade 6 students will be missed at school, but we are excited to see them begin their new journeys. Congratualtions and Farewell!

Grade 6 Students Celebrate the end of Primary School!

As the year draws to a close, our Grade 6 students recently enjoyed their final activity day, a day filled with adventure and fun.  This special day maked one of their last moments together before they move on from Primary School and embark on the next exciting chapter of their educational journey.

The day began with a walk around Frankston, where students explored the vibrant street art in the laneways and public spaces.  The creative and colourful murals done by talented local artists each told a story.  The end of this walk led to Beauty Park, where the students enjoyed a break.

Refreshed and ready for more, it was time for some high energy fun as the students headed to the bowling alley for two games of bowling.  There was plenty of laughter and celebrated strikes.  The first game was a bit of a warm up as everyone got into the swing of things, but the second game brought the competition to life.  Mr Hurford managed to get 4 strikes giving him an impressive score of 160, securing the win!

The excitement didn't stop there as the students geared up for 2 games of laser tag.  They strategized their way through the dark room, darting around obstacles trying to outscore their opponents.  Everyone's competitive side came out, especially Mrs Bailey's who managed to outshoot everyone to claim the highest score of game 2!

To finish the day, the students spent an hour in the arcade enjoying various games and challenges.  This day was not only about having fun, but a chance for the students to create lasting memories.  We are very proud of our Grade 6 students and cannot wait to hear about all the incredible things they will achieve in the future.

While the Grade 6 students were out and about, the rest of the school also enjoyed a special treat.  Everyone headed to Village Cinemas to watch Moana 2.  This was a wonderful way for the younger students to celebrate the end of the year.

Special Assembly - Shave for a Cure

On Monday the 16th of December, our school came together for a special assembly in support of Shave for a Cure, an important initiative raising awareness and funds for cancer research and support services.

We are incredibly proud of our brave participants, who have volunteered to take part in this event.  Our wonderful Prep/1 teacher Mrs. D, along with her sister, and Mr. M shaved their heads to show their support.  Mr Hurford also made a big sacrifice, parting ways with his iconic beard!  The energy in the room was incredible, with everyone cheering loudly in support of our courageous volunteers.

Thanks to the generous donations from friends, family and our school community, the team has raised an astounding $3288 so far, well exceeding their initial goal of $2000!

A huge well done to Mrs. D, her sister, Mr. M, and Mr. Hurford for their incredible bravery and commitment to supporting such a worthy cause.
