Halloween Disco 2024

Once again we had a successful Halloween Disco on Thursday afternoon organised by our amazing Parent's Association!  This annual event has become a much anticipated afternoon of spooky fun and laughter.

The GP room was decked out in frightfully fantastic decorations creating the perfectly haunted atmosphere.  Many thanks to all the parents who volunteered their time and creative talents to transform the space and make it truly magical!  The haunted photo booth was a highlight, allowing students to pose with friends in front of a spook-tac-ular background.

Students came in costumes, from witches and vampires to superheros and princesses.  There was a great mix of spooky and sweet!  Everyone enjoyed showing off their costumes and spooky moves whilst dancing to disco songs.  The students had a blast playing ghostly games such as Musical statues, Limbo and the classic game of Corners.

At the end of the Disco, each student recieved a lollie treat bag to take home!  Such a wonderful and fun eerie extravaganza!

Henny Penny Hatchery

Last week, as part of the 'Farm' unit, Prep 1D welcomed some very special visitors - the Henny Penny Hatchery!  The classroom was filled with excitement as the students watched the baby chicks hatch and grow before their eyes.  The students were able to observe the entire process, starting with the eggs in the incubator and ending with the fluffy, chirping chicks.

One of the most exciting parts was getting to name each new chick.  Each time a chick hatched, students eagerly waited to see what name was drawn from the hat.  P1D is proud to introduce their little flock of chicks, Chloe, Cookie, Chicken Nugget, Jaxon, Lucky, Love Heart, Chick, Finn and Kris!

Another highlight was when the students had the chance to gently hold the chicks, bringing big smiles to their faces.  This hands on experience allowed them to feel the warmth and softness of the chicks.

P1D were sad to see the chicks go on Friday, but were glad to have had such a fun and educational experience in their classroom!

School Notice Board - 1st November 2024

Thank you for the
Halloween Disco

The annual Halloween Disco was a roaring success (or should we say... SCREAMING success?). A special thank you to all the fundraising committee and other parent helpers for organising the event.

Bunnings volunteers helping to add colour to the school
Earlier in the week, Lyn Kellow from Bunnings Frankston came in with 4 other volunteers to help do some work around the school. The volunteers were from different Bunnings stores around the Peninsula.

I would like to thank them on behalf of the community for donating plants, paint and time to the school. A lot of the school community have commened on the works and really like the added colour in the playground.

I would also like to thank Taubmans Paint for donating the paint for the garden beds and sheds.

Working Bee - Week 6

We would like to hold a working bee on Friday 15th November.

Could I please ask the parent community to reserve some time after school on that date and volunteer to come and join us for a working bee?

I would like to use the opporunity to refresh the look of areas in the school, fix up the look of the gardens and do some maintenance around the school.

The working bee will be from 3:15 until 5:00. We will be enjoying sausage rolls and party pies after the working bee.

Please register if you are able to come.

Alternatively, you can return the working bee slip from the flyer that was sent home.

Social Media Safety

KHPS promote Esafety and would like to share an important resource for parents and carers about safe socials.

Parents and carers play a key role in guiding their children as they navigate the online world and begin to learn through exploration, play and social interaction.

Parents and carers can prepare their primary school aged child to be safe on social media even if they don’t use it yet. You can do this by building good online habits and staying informed about online safety.

  • Rakes
  • Orbital Sander (needed to lightly sand the stage deck)
  • Gardening/pruning equipment

Come and enjoy some sausage roll and party pies after the working bee.

Thank you in advance.
