What a wonderful way to celebrate 50 years of our school community! On Saturday 12th September, students, families, staff, past students and members of our wider school community came together to celebrate this very special milestone.
Our 50th Anniversary was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on our school’s history, share memories and celebrate the people who have helped shape KHPS over the past five decades. It was particularly special to see past and present families returning to school, reconnecting with old friends, and sharing plenty of stories.
There was something for everyone to enjoy throughout the day. Our petting zoo and face painting were popular with our younger visitors, while the market stalls, food trucks and sausage sizzle provided plenty of options to keep everyone happy. The popcorn and fairy floss stall was another favourite, adding a little extra sweetness to the celebrations.
There was plenty of action and entertainment too, with games running throughout the day and our dunk tank proving to be a huge hit! Students and families had the chance to dunk some of our teachers and school leaders, much to everyone’s amusement. Our DJ kept the music going and helped create a fantastic atmosphere across the school grounds.
Inside the main building, our History Walk took visitors on a journey through 50 years of Karingal Heights Primary School. Looking through old photographs, memorabilia and displays brought back many wonderful memories and provided a chance for past students, families, and staff to share stories from their time at KHPS.
We were also incredibly grateful to the many market stallholders, food vendors and community members who supported our celebration and helped make the day such a success. Their involvement added to the wonderful community atmosphere and gave everyone even more to see, do, and enjoy.
A milestone like 50 years is also a chance to acknowledge the countless people who have contributed to our school over the years. We would like to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to our staff, parents and family volunteers who gave their time, energy and enthusiasm to plan, prepare, and run such a memorable event. From the early planning stages to decorating, setting up, and packing down, your hard work helped bring the day together.
Our 50th Anniversary celebration was a wonderful reminder that KHPS is more than just a school — it is a community. A community built over generations through friendships, shared experiences, treasured memories, and a strong sense of belonging.
Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate 50 fantastic years! We look forward to continuing to build on our school’s wonderful history and creating many more memories together in the years to come.
As we come to the end of another busy and wonderful term at Karingal Heights Primary School, I would like to thank our entire school community for the energy, enthusiasm and support you have shown throughout the term. Our students have enjoyed a fantastic range of experiences, including special lunches and treats, our museum excursion, Olden Days incursion, school concert, school fete, Bike Ed, Science Week, Book Week and school sports. Alongside all of these exciting events, our students have continued to work hard, learn new things and grow as learners and as individuals. A huge thank you to our staff, families, volunteers and students for everything you have contributed to making this another memorable term at KHPS. I hope everyone enjoys a well-earned break, and I look forward to seeing everyone back next term!

What a fantastic way to finish Term 3 and get into the spirit of the AFL Grand Final! Our Footy and Team Sports Celebration Day was filled with plenty of energy, excitement and school spirit as students came together to celebrate their love of sport and teamwork.
The day got off to a great start with our morning parade, where students and staff proudly showed off their team colours and sporting gear. It was wonderful to see so many friends and family members come along to watch and cheer the students on. While there were plenty of AFL teams represented, we also saw students proudly supporting and wearing colours from a range of other team sports, including rugby, soccer, basketball and local sporting clubs. It was great to see everyone celebrating their love of sport and proudly supporting their favourite teams.
After the parade, our 5/6H students took charge of the fun, organising a range of sporting rotations for the rest of the school. Students had the chance to test their skills with handballing, kicking, bouncing and running games. There were plenty of smiles, laughs and friendly competition as everyone joined in and gave each activity a go.
One of the biggest highlights of the morning was the marking competition. Students and staff had the chance to see how high they could fly as they jumped to mark a football before landing safely on the big mat. There were plenty of great marks, big jumps and some very impressive flying!
Footy Colours Day was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate sport and wrap up the term!
There were plenty of interesting things to discover in Bugs Alive! where students explored the world of insects and other creepy crawlies. They learned about the different types of bugs, their unique features, and the important part they play in our environment. There were certainly some interesting creatures to see!
It was a wonderful day filled with curiosity, excitement, and lots of learning. Our students had a great time exploring the museum and came back to school with plenty of new things to talk about and share.

? SWPBS – Term 3 Wrap-Up ?What a fantastic term of learning and growth at KHPS! Throughout Term 3, our students continued to develop their understanding of what it means to be Respectful, Responsible, Resilient and Safe members of our school community. This term, our SWPBS focus included learning to stay within school boundaries, move safely around the school and playground, and report problems to staff. We also revisited being Responsible by looking after our environment, putting rubbish in the bin and eating in designated areas. As the term progressed, we focused on being Resilient, including learning to wait patiently and manage situations when things don't happen straight away. We then explored Respect and inclusion, with students learning the importance of sharing the space, including others and taking turns. We finished the term by reinforcing an important safety message: “We report problems we can’t solve to the yard duty teacher.” Students have been learning the difference between problems they can solve themselves and situations where they need to seek help from an adult. We are incredibly proud of the growth we have seen across our school this term. Our students have shown increasing confidence in using our SWPBS expectations, solving problems and making positive choices. It has been wonderful to see students recognising our school values in action and helping to create a school environment where everyone feels safe, respected, included and ready to learn. A big congratulations to all of our students for their continued effort and growth this term! ??

? Wellbeing – Rest, Reset and RechargeAs we reach the end of another busy term, the school holidays provide a wonderful opportunity for everyone to rest, reset and recharge. Holidays don’t need to be packed with activities. Taking time to slow down, get some extra sleep, spend time together, enjoy the outdoors, play, read or simply have a quiet day can all help us to recharge our wellbeing batteries. For children, a break from routines and the busyness of school can be especially valuable. Give them time to relax, connect with family and friends, enjoy the things they love and return to school feeling refreshed and ready for a new term. From all of us at KHPS, we wish our students, families and wider school community a safe, relaxing and enjoyable holiday break. We hope you have plenty of opportunities to rest, have fun and make some happy memories together. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 4 on Monday 5 October. ? |
