Teddy Bears Picnic at KHPS

On Tuesday after lunch, our school was filled with cuddles, smiles, and soft toys as the whole school took part in a special Teddy Bears Picnic!

Dressed in their coziest pyjamas, students brought along their favourite teddy bears and cuddly toys to enjoy a relaxing afternoon together.  From much loved teddy bears to all kinds of cuddly friends, each student had a special friend to share the fun with.

In the morning, each class helped prepare for the picnic by making fairy bread and decorating teddy bear biscuits.  These delicious creations were then packed ready to enjoy during the afternoon picnic.

The excitement began as students sat with their teddies to listen to the story Ten Reddy Teddies.  Before enjoying their special treats, students had the chance to introduce their teddies or special toys, sharing names, stories, and what makes their teddy special.

The celebration continued with dancing and a fun filled game of musical statues, filling the BER with laughter and fun and ending the day on a high!

Prep Students Celebrate 100 Days of School!

Our Prep students recently reached an exciting milestone - 100 days of school!  To mark the occasion, the students celebrated all the amazing learning, friendships, and fun that has taken place since the beginning of the year.

As part of the celebrations, the Prep students created fantastic hats featuring 100 items of their choice.  From pom-poms, and stickers to dinosaurs and pencils, each hat was a unique and colourful creation showcasing the students' creativity and counting skills.

Throughout the day, the Preps took part in a range of fun and educational activities centred around the number 100.  They placed dot stickers on to a large number 100 to practice their fine motor skills, counted all the way up to 100, did colouring in sheets, made wristbands and crowns to wear, and had fun making and wearing glasses shaped like the number 100.

Reaching 100 days of school is a big achievement for the Prep students and a meaningful milestone in their first year of learning.  It marks:
  • Growth and Progress - Students have developed new skills in reading, writing, counting, and working with others.
  • Confidence and Independence - They have settled into the daily routines of school, built friendships, developed emotional resilience, and become more confident in the classroom.
We are very proud of what our Prep students have accomplished in their first 100 days of school and hope the next 100 are filled with even more exploration, creativity and fun!

Mini Pizzas with Debbie!

We were thrilled to welcome back our wonderful volunteer Debbie this week!  This time, Debbie treated the students to a fun and tasty cooking activity, making mini ham and pineapple pizzas using English muffins.

With aprons on and hands washed, the students enjoyed spreading tomato passata, sprinkling cheese, and adding their favourite toppings before watching their mini pizzas bake to perfection.

Not only was this a delicious activity, but it also gave the students the chance to follow instructions and practice food preparation skills whilst enjoying the experience of cooking.

A big thank you to Debbie for generously giving her time to help the students create another yummy recipe.  We can't wait to see what's on the menu next time!

Give them a try at home!
