Easter Hat Parade 2025

Our Annual Easter Hat Parade was a fantastic display of creativity!  In the week leading up to the parade, students worked hard in art to design and decorate their own Easter hats.  From cute bunnies, to dazzling eggs, every hat was a unique masterpiece.

Excitement was in the air Friday morning as the students proudly wore their creations and marched in front of their classmates, teachers, families and friends.  The multipurpose court was filled with smiles, laughter, and plenty of Easter cheer.

A highlight of the morning was when the staff jumped into the middle of the parade circle to perform the Chicken Dance.  After that everyone joined in for a round of musical statues and musical bobs, adding to the fun and festive atmosphere.

What a wonderful way to end Term 1!

We wish all our students and their families a happy and safe Easter break!

ANZAC Day Ceremony

ANZAC Day Ceremony

On Thursday, April 24th, 2025, we will be holding a short ANZAC Day Ceremony starting at 9:40 AM.

This ceremony is an opportunity to honor and remember the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps who served in the Gallipoli campaign during World War I, as well as all Australians and New Zealanders who have served and sacrificed in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping missions.

We warmly invite parents, carers, and grandparents to join us for this special occasion.

Attendance Improvement

Attendance Matters!

A big thank you to all our students who attend school every day! We’re proud to have many children with 100% attendance—check out the Awards, Birthdays, and Celebrations section to see who’s been recognized.

To encourage everyone to arrive on time each day, we’re launching a special 3-week attendance reward at the start of next term. For every day a student is present and on time during the first three weeks of Term 2, they will receive an icy pole!

After the first three weeks, students who continue their great attendance will earn SWPBS raffle tickets each day they are at school and on time. Let’s make every day count!

Help Us Celebrate 50 Years of Karingal Heights Primary School!

We are looking for a small group of volunteers to help brainstorm ideas, plan, and coordinate a memorable 50th-anniversary celebration. If you’re interested in getting involved, please see Mr. Bodley.

Pancake Fun for our Prep, Year 1 & 2 Students!

This week our Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students had a deliciously fun time celebrating Shrove Tuesday!  As part of this Easter tradition, the students visited the school kitchen, where they enjoyed a special treat, freshly made  pancakes!

While the teachers took care of the cooking and flipping pancakes, the students worked on a fun pancake themed colouring sheet.  The sweet smell of pancakes filled the air as each student excitedly choose their favourite topping, either butter or jam, before enjoying their warm and tasty treat.

District Track Athletics 2025

On Tuesday some of our Grade 3, 4, 5 and 6 students proudly represented our school at the District Athletics Day, held at Ballam Park.  Competing against students from schools across the area, our athletes gave it their all in a range of track events.

A special congratulations to those who placed in their events and to all the  students who attended, for their outstanding efforts!

Caring for Yourself and Your Family During the School Holiday Break

The school holidays are a perfect time to slow down, relax, and enjoy special moments together as a family. After a busy term, taking a break helps everyone recharge and feel refreshed for the term ahead.

It’s a great chance to catch up on sleep, ease into more relaxed routines, and enjoy simple pleasures. Swapping screens for books, journaling, or outdoor adventures can make a big difference in feeling truly rested. A little mindfulness—whether it’s a quiet walk, some deep breathing, or just sitting in the sunshine—can also help everyone feel calm and refreshed.

There are so many fun and free ways to enjoy the holidays together! Pack a picnic and head to the park, take a nature walk or bike ride, or visit the local library for a good book or a storytelling session. A cozy movie night at home, baking something delicious in the kitchen, or getting creative with arts and crafts can make for wonderful family bonding time. Even something as simple as a scavenger hunt in the backyard can bring lots of laughter and joy.

As the break comes to an end, easing back into a school mindset can help make the transition smoother. Celebrating achievements from last term, organizing school supplies, and enjoying light learning activities like reading or puzzles can make a big difference. Encouraging excitement for new experiences in Term 2 can set a positive tone for the weeks ahead.

Most importantly, holidays are about taking time for yourselves and each other. Whether it’s resting, playing, or simply being together, these moments help everyone return to school feeling refreshed and ready for new adventures. Enjoy the break!
