Grandparents and Special Persons Afternoon 2025

We were delighted to welcome grandparents and special persons to our school for a wonderful afternoon together on Wednesday.  It was a special opportunity for loved ones to visit classrooms, see the fantastic work our students have been doing, and spend some quality time together.

Students proudly shared their learning, showed off their creative projects, and took part in a range of exciting activities with their visitors.  There were fun math games to play, Bee-Bots to explore, paper aeroplanes to make and test, and plenty of time to enjoy our outdoor play equipment.  Many students and their special guests created handprint keepsakes together, while others made crowns and other craft projects.  Some made thumbprint hearts with their special person, while others worked on a treasured memories flip book to capture the special moments they have shared together.

It was a heartwarming afternoon filled with laughter, conversation, and special moments between students and their visitors.  Seeing different generations connect, share stories, and simply enjoy time together made the day truly special.

Thank you to all the grandparents and special persons who joined us.  We hope it was a memorable afternoon for everyone who joined us!

Sporting Schools Rugby Clinic for Grades 1-6

Over the past few weeks, our Grade 1-6 students have been actively participating in a three session rugby clinic as part of the Sporting Schools government initiative.  This Government initiative is designed to help schools increase children's participation in sport and connect them with community sport opportunities.

Delivered by DS Sports, the program provided an exciting and engaging introduction to rugby focusing on fundamental skills, fun and movement based games.  Students have enjoyed learning key rugby skills such as running with the ball, passing and teamwork through interactive activities, including the popular game "Walls".  The sessions have been designed to encourage participation, skill building and enjoyment, ensuring every student can get involved and have fun.

It was wonderful to see the energy and enthusiasm during each session.  For some students, this experience might even spark an interest in joining a local rugby club to continue developing their skills!

Exciting Wellbeing Programs Coming in Term 2!

We are delighted to introduce two fantastic wellbeing initiatives launching in Term 2, aimed at supporting the health, confidence, and happiness of our students.

Meet Pippin, Our New Wellbeing Dog!

We are excited to welcome Pippin, our new wellbeing dog, along with his handler, Leah, to our school community! Pippin is a specially trained therapy dog who will provide comfort, joy, and a sense of calm to students. Research shows that therapy dogs can reduce stress, improve mood, and enhance overall wellbeing.

Leah and Pippin will support students in a variety of ways, whether by offering a friendly presence during challenging moments or simply spreading positivity throughout the school. We can’t wait for everyone to meet them!

Cool Guys and Girlosophy

Another exciting initiative in Term 2 is the Cool Guys and Girlosophy program, specially designed for our Year 5 and 6 students. This engaging program focuses on building confidence, resilience, and positive relationships. Through interactive activities, meaningful discussions, and teamwork, students will develop essential life skills that will help them navigate friendships, emotions, and self-esteem as they prepare for their transition to high school.

Life Ed Van – Supporting Healthy Friendships & Online Safety

We are also pleased to welcome the Life Ed Van in Term 2, delivering important lessons on friendships and online safety.

  • Preps will participate in Harold’s Friendships, a program designed to help them build strong friendships and learn how to care for others.

  • Grades 1 & 2 will take part in Harold’s Online World, which teaches students how to be safe and respectful online while promoting the responsible use of technology.

  • Grades 3-6 will engage in bCyberwise, a program focused on responsible and respectful online behavior, protecting personal information, and managing cyberbullying.

These sessions will equip students with essential skills for navigating friendships and the digital world in a safe and respectful way.

These programs will run exclusively in Term 2, reinforcing our commitment to fostering a supportive and caring school environment. We know they will make a meaningful impact on our students' wellbeing, and we are excited for everyone to participate.

Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to Term 2!
