This Week in STEM

This week in STEM, our students have been putting their creativity and problem solving skills to the test designing and making bird deterrent hats and masks!  With some of our school's birds swooping to protect their nests, this project was all about finding a creative way to keep everyone safe.

With lots of different materials available to them, the students set off to construct their unique creations.  The results were amazing, the hats and masks featured feathers, long spikes, cardboard and googly eyes to make them look big and scary to birds.

As well as having fun, the activity helped students develop skills in design thinking, teamwork and resiliance!  We are confident the hats and masks will help keep everyone a little safer during the swooping season!

Helper's Morning Tea

I would like to extend a massive thank you to all the helper's that make our school comminuty great. Many people come in and help in the rooms or around the school and we would like to show our appreciation by providing a morning tea.

Traditionally, inviations for the morning tea are given out by the classroom teachers where the help mostly occurs.

If you have been a helper in the school this year but have not yet received an invitation to attend, you are invited to join us on Thursday 5th December from 11:00am - 11:30am in the staffroom.

Regards,
Jeremy Bodley
