TwistED Science Excursion

On Wednesday the 23rd of October, our students had an exciting opportunity to visit TwistED Science as part of our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) program.  The excursion was a hands on learning experience that sparked curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.

Throughout the day, students explored various interactive exhibits and activities that brought science concepts to life.  From creating bubbles, to testing their reaction times and experimenting with air pressure, the activities were designed to engage students and demonstrate how science plays a role in the world around us.

The highlight of the day was the 'Method or Madness' workshop, where the students became junior scientists, working with real scientific equipment and materials to conduct experiments.  During this session, students were asked to predict the outcomes of various scientific experiments involving exploding canisters and chemical reactions.

Then it was their turn to put on the safety goggles and conduct an experiment that showed how absorbent water can be when combined with a special polymer, transforming it into something that looked and felt like real snow! Students watched in amazement as just a small amount of powder expanded rapidly when water was added, turning into fluffy 'snow' in seconds.

TwistED Science was a great opportunity for the students to apply some of what they have been learning in the classroom during STEM.

World Teachers Day 2024

On October 25th, we celebrate World Teachers' Day, a special occasion dedicated to honouring the incredible work of teachers around the world.

Our teachers do more than just teach, they help shape the future by encouraging a love of learning, supporting students through challenges, and creating a positive, inclusive school environment.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU! to all of our KHPS teachers for their hard work, dedication, and passion for teaching.

Let's continue to support and appriciate our teachers not just on World Teachers' Day, but every day!
