Book Week Celebrations!

This Thursday the 5th of September, our school was transformed into a world of wonder as we celebrated our annual Book Week Parade, themed 'Reading is Magic!'.  Students dressed up as their favourite characters, from magical creatures to storybook heros and proudly paraded their costumes.

The magic didn't stop there!  After the parade, the students participated in book themed activity rotations in the different classrooms, where they engaged in hands on projects inspired by a variety of stories.

Mrs D read The Cocrete Garden, and the students then had the opportunity to draw their own concrete gardens, imagining how they would transform a grey space into a blooming paradise.

Miss W shared the story Can you Teach a Fish to Climb a Tree?, and then the students reflected on their own personal interests by creating profiles of what they love to do and why.  Then they made their own unique fish.

Miss Smith read Bowerbird Blues, and then the students explored balance and nature by making their own balancing birds.

Mr Hurford read Eww Gross, and then the students got hands on with science by creating their own erupting volcanoes!

It was a wonderful day filled with excitement and creativity!

Granny Sue is Back for Another Cooking Class!

On Friday the 6th of September we welcomed back our culinary expert, Granny Sue for another fun filled cooking lesson.

This time, Granny Sue shared with us her homemade sausage rolls.  Our budding chefs had the chance to get their hands dirty- literally, mixing the meat filling and forming it to create the sausage shape to go into the pastry.

As these yummy treats were cooking, the aroma filled the school building.  Once cooked the students got to try their golden flaky creations.  They were definitely a hit!

Give them a try at home, you won't be disappointed!  They are delicious!

Thanks again Granny Sue!
