Mrs Sargood visits the Junior School 2024

On Thursday morning the junior school students had a special visitor, Mrs Sargood from the National Trust.  The Mrs Sargood incursion brings history to life for our students through the 'Then and Now: The Past in Your Class' program.

Mrs Sargood transformed our classroom into a time machine, allowing the students to step back and experience life as it was in the past.  Through interactive activities, story telling and hands on learning, she helped our students understand and appreciate the differences and similarities between life today and life many years ago.

The students were transported back to an era where children "should be seen and not heard" and experienced the many rules and formalities of life in the 1800s.  They were also given the chance to see how challenging and time consuming writing with a nib and ink was.  Students gained an idea of what it was like to go to school in the 1800s with an emphasis on school being 'No Fun'!  Times have definitely changed!

Check out our gallery of the students stepping back in time.

KHPS SENIOR GIRLS SHINE AT THE BASKETBALL LIGHTENING PREMIERSHIP

On Friday 23rd of August our senior girls basketball team competed in the Lightening Premiership, a tournament which brings together many teams from schools in our region.

Our girls put in a fantastic effort and showed remarkable teamwork, determination and sportshmanship throughout the day.  Although they faced tough competition, the girls never gave up.  They fought hard for every point and demonstrated great resilience.

One of the highlights of their day was the game against Frankston East PS, where both teams played hard and the match ending in a draw.

The team's determination paid off in their last match against St. Francis Xavier Primary School, where they secured the win scoring 8-4.

Well Done Girls!
