Swimming Week 2024

This week the students have been diving into swimming lessons at PARC pools.  Swimming is an essential life skill and providing these swimming lessons ensures our students develop confidence and competence in the water.  As well as teaching swimming skills, these lessons also promote physical fitness, coordination and water safety.

During these lessons, students have learnt skills such as floating, kicking, and basic strokes.  One of the key components of these lessons is teaching water safety, a crucial aspect that ensures our students not only enjoy their time in the water, but do so safely.  Some of the water safety skills they learnt included floating and treading water, safe entry and exit and basic rescue techniques.

It was great to see the students' enthusiasm and watching their confidence grow with every splash!

Peter Combe

On Thursday the 6th of May our students were lucky enough to have the talented musician and beloved children's entertainer Peter Combe perform for them.  Peter Combe is known for his catchy, fun songs and engaging performances.

The students had a wonderful time interacting with Peter and singing along to songs such as 'Tadpole Blues', 'Spaghetti Bolognaise', 'Ting Tang Teng Tong' and 'Mr Clickety Cane'.  The energy in the BER was incredible with everyone clapping, singing and moving to the music.

A special highlight of the concert was when our very own music teacher, Mrs Freeman joined Peter Combe to sing 'Planet Earth 3rd From The Sun!

School Notice Board - 7th June 2024

What a wonderful school climate!
Students, teachers, parents, carers and guardians should all be proud of the way the children hold themselves at school. Data shows that the number of incidents that are considered major, have falled dramatically from this time last year. We are also experiencing fewer low level behaviours of concern across the school than ever before.

Everyone has contributed to ensuring the Karingal Heights in a calm and kind environment. Visitors coming in continually comment on how lovely this school is to enter.

Thank you everyone for making KHPS the best school around!

Reminder that there is no school Monday

Just a reminder to all families that the school is closed on Monday for the King's Birthday public holiday.

World Environment Day 2024

World Environment Day 2024 in Australia is held on the 5th of June.  This day is an international day of environmental awareness and action that takes place on the same day each year.

The theme for 2024 is 'Our Land, Our Future' which focuses on land restoration, desertification and drought resilience.

To inspire thought and discussion on small actions we can do help our earth, 12W completed an activity where they put thier bright ideas onto a light bulb which will be displayed in the classroom.
