Our planet's health is a critical point of concern and it is important to raise awareness of the environmental issues that negatively impact our planet.
World Earth Day which is celebrated on the 22nd of April every year aims to encourage us to find more sustainable solutions.

This years theme is 'Planet v. Plastics' which is a call for action to end plastic use to safeguard the health of our planet.  The aim is to have a 60% reduction in plastic production by 2040, with the goal of building a plastic free world for our future generations.

How can we help at school?

• Avoid using single use plastic spoons and forks
• Bring your lunch and snacks in reusable containers
• Bring a reusable water bottle
• Look at the packaging the things you buy come in.  Is all the packaging needed?  Can it be recycled?

These simple actions will go a long way towards saving our planet!

Book Club provides families with affordable and convenient ways to bring the best in children's literature into their homes.  Each issue contains curated, age-appropriate titles carefully selected and levelled by a dedicated team of professional book lovers.

A paper catalogue was sent home on Wednesday.

Just a reminder that orders are due back by 6th May via Scholastic Loop online ordering system or by bringing the order form which is in the catalogue back to school in a sealed envelope.

Orders will be delivered to school and distributed to the students.  There is also a GIFT function which you can select if you prefer orders to be sent to the front office for secret collection!

For every Book Club order placed, Scholastic gives back 15% of the order value to our school to purchase valuable educational resources via its Scholastic Rewards program.

Starting Term 2
As the weather becomes more unpredictatble throughout term 2, more children are wearing jumpers and coats. They also take them off and leave them lying around as the day heats up.  To avoid lost clothing. Could all parents / carer please take the time to start this term off by putting names on all items of clothing? School hats can now be brought home, could you please ask your child to bring them home and store them somewhere, ready for later in the year?

Second Hand Uniform
We have a small selection of second hand uniform. Mainly small jumpers, a few shirts, dresses and tracksuit pants. We have a lot of shorts and skorts. If you would like to search through the items to see if there is something you want, a table will be set up on Wednesday the 24th April at 3:15pm near the park gate. Feel free to help yourself. If you have any second hand uniform that is no longer needed at home, could you please consider donating it at the office?
Camp Deposit due by May 1st
The deposit for the city camp for grades 4 - 6 is due by the 1st May. Could you please  all payment and deposit notices in? If you need to check for any CSEF balances or have questions around payments, please talk to Pauline at the office.
