Science Week 2023

National Science Week is held between the 12th - 20th August.  During this week children are encouraged to explore and learn more about the importance of science and technology in our world.
The Junior school have been having lots of fun doing experiments.  12W were investigating how celery stalks carry water and food colouring to their leaves, like the way blood travels through our body.

They also did the Magic Milk experiment where they added a few drops of different food colouring to a bowl of milk and then some dishwashing detergent to see how the different molecules reacted.

P1D did an experiment to show how solids changed to a liquid when heated. They crushed up boiled lollies, added them to a salt dough window shape and heated it up.  This created a beautiful coloured stained glass window effect.

Peaceful Kids

'Peaceful Kids' is a Mindfulness and Positive Psychology based program to lessen anxiety and stress and increase resilience in children.  The program helps children to build their emotional resilience, so they are better equipped to deal with the day-to-day stresses that life brings them.
One of our wonderful Education Support staff members, Mr. M completed an extensive training course to become a certified 'Peaceful Kids' facilitator and to confidently support anxious children.  This program is an educational program and is not a counselling or therapy program.
The program is run over a period of weeks with a group of up to 4 children and each session includes learning a range of Mindfulness strategies, meditations, and positive psychology exercises.

School Notice Board - 18th August 2023

Thank you for your support
This term, parents and the fundraising committee have put in a lot of effort into raising money for the school.

Firstly, we would like to give a massive thank you to all the families that supported the Cookie Dough fundraiser. We passed the target sales with 164 tubs sold!

Secondly, I would like to thank the organisations that have generously donated prizes for the current and future raffles. As well as the families that have bought and sold tickets.

Lastly, thank you to the fundraising committee for all the time and organisation that has been put into fundraising.

Evacuation Drill
The school will be running a practise evacuation soon. We understand that some children do find these drills stressful but they are very important as they ensure everything is in place in the event of a real emergency.

Could parents/carers please talk to their children about the importance of practising and that it is not a real emergency that will be happening?

Current Notices
Please keep an eye out for the dates on the following notices:

* Father's Day breakfast attendance

* Father's Day raffle

* Bunnings Saussage Sizzle Volunteer Form
