Father's Day Breakfast

Finally, after two years of COVID, our Father's Day Breakfast is back!

Lateness to School

We are having many families arriving to begin their day at school way after 9:00am. Our school gate opens at 8:45am and the first bell rings at 8:55am. The children should be inside, ready to begin their day at 9:00am. For the next 60 minutes there is a constant stream of children arriving to school late. If your child arrives at school 15 minutes late each day, they are missing over an hour of school a week. This quickly adds up.

It is said that one of the most stressful things for a child is to arrive late to school. Late arrival means that vital instruction for the first lessons of the day has been missed. The teacher needs to stop instruction in order to tell the late child what to do and in the meantime other children are missing out on the teacher's help. If this happens at three different times in one classroom, which it does, then the planned lesson, along with the grade's concentration is very disrupted.

If you are having difficulty getting your child to school on time please see Mrs Riley or Mr Bodley. They may be able to give you some tips.

Please read this article: "How can I get my child/teen to school?"

Basketball Lightning Premiership

Well done to our grade 5 and 6 students who managed to get teams together to contest the annual Basketball Lightning Premiership.
It would have been a long but enjoyable day for them playing against tall children and teams that play together on a Saturday but they had fun. Well done to the girls who had to play with only 5 team members! Thank you to Tammie Black who assisted with the coaching.

Learning for success session 4

Our next Learning For Success session is on Wednesday 31st August at 4:30. This week's session is about CYBER SAFETY. Please register early

Second Prep Transition Day

Our second prep transition session for our 2023 Foundation students is on Thursday 8th September. Children who have enroled will be invited to attend these sessions. If you have not enroled it is time to do so. Pauline is waiting for your call.

Pupil Free Day

Monday 5th September- Staff Professional Practice Day.

Don't forget that Monday 5th September is a Pupil Free Day. No child will be required at school. Please ensure you have made arrangements for you children.

Seeking bike donations

We are seeking donations of bikes.
If you have an unused child size bike at home, could you please consider donating it. Please read on for more information about what we are looking for. We are seeking children sized mountain bikes to build a collection for any future bike safety and education programs. Smaller size bikes that may be suitable for grade 2 and under would also be appreciated.

Please see Jeremy Bodley if you do have a bike to donate or if you have any questions.

We thank you for your generous contributions.
