A Word From the Principal

I was watching the news this week and a report said that children seem to be dropping out of community sport due to the effects of COVID. The opposite seems to be happening here with quite a few of our older children taking up cricket for the first time. One child said to me that he realised how inactive he had been due to lockdown and that he really felt that he needed to become more active. I can't wait for the opportunity to see the four boys play together.

I have always thought sport and the arts to be important in the development of our children and, as a mother to three it was always a very busy time both with winter and summer driving around for training during the week and then matches on the weekend but well worth it in the end.

Why don't you look to see what is available for your child in our community. I think it will be well worth it.

Could you please keep your child home if they have cold or flu symtoms and contact the absence line. Please consult your doctor if you are unsure.

DUET Music Program

Next week we will have a visit by the organisers of the DUET Music Program.

1/2B have been involved in the music program since term 2 and have benefited greatly. For 2 weeks grades P/1D, 3/4S and 4/5/6H will have 2 music sessions run by the facilitators. The facilitators are hoping to take photographs and videos of the students participating. All students have been provided a photograph permission form. These forms give permission for students to be photographed and their images to be used by the DUET Music Program. If this is not signed or brought back, the students without permission will not be photographed.

A very exciting time for Karingal Heights, expanding our Music Program across the school.
