A Word From the Principal

It was great to see our children beginning the return to school this week. The children and staff were very excited and it was fantastic to see more children for the on site children to play with. Our grade 3 and 4 children have their turn next week. Please look on the "Staggered Return to School" timetable that was in last week's eNewsletter for the days your child is expected at school.

To keep our staff, children and community safe, a reminder that if your child is unwell they are not to come to school especially if they have one or more of the following:
  • fever
  • chills or sweats
  • cough sore throat
  • shortness of breath
  • runny nose
  • change in sese of smell or taste
  • headache
  • muscle soreness
  • stuffy nose
  • nausea
  • vomiting or diarrhoea
We encourage your child to have a COVID test and return if the test is negative and symptoms have gone.

This weekend is our first weekend of freedom in approximately 77 days so I hope you all enjoy it but remember to stay safe.

World Teacher's Day

Next Friday, Australia is celebrating World Teachers Day. Our teachers need to be celebrated for the fantastic work that they always do but the work they have done through our various lock downs. It hasn't been easy to work off site, on site, organise work that children and their helpful parents and carers can complete at home and also, for some staff members, complete work with their own children.

Personally, I would like to sincerely thank all of our teachers at Karingal Heights as I know, when talking to friends and family members of the teaching profession, our teachers have gone above and beyond the work of many others.

It would be fantastic if you can help celebrate the work of our teachers by sending us a photograph of you and your children in their sunglasses that we can post on our social media accounts.

Beware!

We have birds nesting where the children enter the school and they are swooping anyone who walks near them. If you are parking in the carpark, have your child walk to the gate with their bag on their head. Preferably, drop them off infront of the school and then your child can use the gate near the school crossing. Just be aware of time restrictions on parking when picking children up at the end of the day. The birds have broken the skin on some of the children so please be careful.
