A Word From the Principal

This afternoon I am having my second COVID vaccination. I will be pleased to be fully vaccinated and hope that this will eventually allow me to do more things with my family. It is difficult when you cannot see them but Facetime is a wonderful thing, especially for singing Happy Birthday to your daughter.

It is sad to see that the Delta strain of the virus is affecting many children with over 100 children having COVID. Some of these children are in hospital. We don't want to see the virus entering our school so it is important for all of our families to do the right thing such as not have sleep overs, have your child attend birthday parties at the homes of others, wear masks, etc. It is hard but if we all do the right thing then maybe restrictions will ease quicker.

Stay safe everyone,

Kerryn Riley

Our SWPBS focus

RESPECT
Karingal Heights PS will be focusing on RESPECT as a value for School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support.

Please read this article to find out more.

Why are we focusing of respect?

All children have to make many minor and major choices throughout the day. They learn to handle them in two ways; a respectful way or a disrespectful way.

If we speak respectfully, and treat others respectfully, then we get that respect back.

The school records different types of incidents and disrespect is one that is happening a lot.

There are students who are disrespectful to:
* Their peers.
* Their teachers.
* The environment.
* Property.
And much more.

We want to acknowledge those children who display respect with their actions.
