A Word From The Principal 21

What a difference 28 days days of no COVID cases can make! As I have been saying for a while, this are changing quickly. This week more changes were made to schools and possibly more will occur after Sunday.

Children are now allowed to drink from the drink fountains so no panic needed if drink bottles do not come to school.
Limited numbers will be allowed on site for Grade 6 graduation. This is very exciting and more information will be coming out soon.
School photos were recently taken and they arrived back at school for handing out ready in time for Christmas.
Masks no longer need to be worn on yard duty unless we can not keep 1.5 metres away from other people. Great for the warm weather.
Orientation Day will go ahead with all new foundation children allowed on site at the same time. Very exciting.
School tours are now allowed to go ahead.

We feel like we are slowly getting back to normal, even if it is a COVID normal. Just in time for the holidays.

Have a great weekend,

Kerryn

Grade 6 Graduation

We are excited to announce that there will be a Grade 6 Graduation Ceremony going ahead on site at Karingal Heights Primary School. Whilst this is the case, there are limits to how many people will be able to attend. Apparently more announcements will be made over the coming week but please, if you are a grade 6 parent or carer keep Monday, 14th December 6:30pm free.

News From the Wellbeing Hub

There are some interesting webinars coming up. Please take a look.

Year 6 - 7 Orientation Day

Year 6 - 7 Orientation Day will be proceding as normal on Tudsday 8th December. You should have received information from your chosen secondary school in regards to this.
Our advice from the Education Department is that all year 6 students will need to wear a mask when attending the secondary school for orientation regardless of their age.

Glasses For Kids

A reminder that the forms for Glasses For Kids are due back to school by the 8th December.

If your child is unwell

Even though things have eased dramatically in Victoria over the past month we all still need to stay safe. Please read the latest advice given to us from the Department of Education about child illness.
  • Hay fever:  If a student develops symptoms that are different to or worse than usual, they need to go home and school should recommend testing.  Parents can get medical certificate from child's treating GP to confirm it is safe for them to attend school with persistent symptoms like cough or runny nose.
  • Younger children (Prep to 2) who have negative COVID-19 test that was taken after they developed symptoms - if the child's treating GP is satisfied the child has recovered from their acute illness, is otherwise well, and does not need a repeat COVID-19 test, the child can return even if they are not completely free of symptoms. Any worsening symptoms will require review and repeat COVID-19 test (if considered appropriate by the doctor).

Please keep our school and our families safe.
