A Word From The Principal 20

The end of term 4 is fast approachcing and there is so much to do! The children are tired, staff are tired and the Principal is tired and the end of term 4 is fast approaching and there is still so much to do.

There will be more refurbishment works over the Christmas break and it will be concentrated on the upper school, new painting and carpet and next year new furniture.

Draft budgets are being worked on ready to present at our next school council meeting and the Annual Implementation Plan is getting its final touches ready to present to our Senior Education Improvement Officer for approval before also being presented to School Council.

Graduation and other end of year activities are still up in there so any announcements by Dan Andrews this weekend will be greatly anticipated.

Hang in there everyone, stay safe,

Kerryn Riley

Reflection Sheets

School Wide Positive Behaviour Reflection Sheets. Why are the children doing them? This week, as a part of our SWPB program we have started reflection sheets.

Why do we reflect on our behaviour?

We learn from reflecting on experiences, good and bad. A Reflection Sheet is a very effective tool to use when a student is displaying unacceptable or acceptable behaviours and can be used in conjunction with the SWPBS expectations.

The sheets can be used to help correct undesired behaviours or, alternatively, to reinforce those students following the rules and exhibiting expected and desired behaviours.

If a student needs to reflect on a behaviour they will complete a Reflection Sheet where they think about what happened, how and why, what the result was, how the child felt, how others involved felt and how the problem could be solved better.

A small discussion will be held with a staff member, a digital copy of the sheet will be be filed and the original will be sent home with the child. A copy will also be sent home via email in case the original goes missing on its way home.

Not every incident will warrant a Reflection Sheet but some incidents we feel you need to know about and discuss with your child.

Times have been tough for many of our families over the years and we have been getting many requests from charities for assistance. We do not endorse all of the charities that contact us but the following two have in the past and continue to assist our families.
