A Word From The Principal 17

The AFL Grand Final is over, congratulations Richmond. Melbourne Storm are the champions again and well done to the Melbourne Vixens. Roll on now to summer and wasn't Mr Hurford was happy to be at cricket training last night! It is great to see restrictions are beginning to ease and the traffic on the road now is evidence of that. I put petrol in my car for the first time in a long time this morning and I actually had cobwebs on the cover of the tank!

Tuesday is Melbourne Cup but children are expected at school on Monday. If your child is not going to attend please leave a message on the absence line so that we don't need to ring you to find out if everything is okay.

We don't contact you to annoy you but we need to follow up in the morning on all absences. If we can't contact you we begin ringing people on your emergency list and at times that can be a little awkward. Sometimes we have made wellbeing checks by visiting homes if we can not get in contact with anyone. Next call can be too the police if we are very concerned.

DET is aware of all children who are absent from school and they are particularly aware of children who are absent for more than 30 days and who are constantly late. We need to have an explanation for every absence and lateness so the best thing to do is ring us.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the sun,

Kerryn
