A Word From The Principal 16

Term 4 is moving very quickly and there are many things to do! Things in regards to COVID are changing so quickly it is hard to keep up with what can happen at school and what cannot.
Footy Day has come and gone with Book Week just around the corner. Teaching staff are ready to begin writing reports, grade structures are being looked at as well as the budgets for 2021. Keep a look out for our eNewsletters which will provide you updates on the many changes happening in our schools over the remainder of term 4.

How exciting!

World Teachers' Day and Education Support Week

On Friday 30 October, our school community will come together to celebrate World Teachers’ Day and Education Support Week and recognise the continued dedication and support our teachers and education support staff provide our students. This year World Teachers’ Day has the theme ‘Teachers: leading in crisis, reimagining the future.’This theme reflects the continued commitment teachers have made to their students and as education leaders, throughout the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. While this year has been difficult for us all, World Teachers’ Day is a great way to say thank you to our teachers for their support and efforts in helping students adapt during this challenging time.

Karingal Heights Primary School will be celebrating World Teachers’ Day and Education Support Week by having a staff morning tea, with social distancing being observed of course. You and your children can get involved by sending a message of thanks to a favourite teacher by using the hashtag #WTD2020 on social media. Don’t forget to tag the school so we can see all your messages.

Head to www.education.vic.gov.au/about/events/Pages/world-teachers-day.aspx to access a range of resources to help you and your children to celebrate World Teachers’ Day and Education Support Week 2020, including ‘Thank You’ card templates.

A Reminder to our School Council Members

Our next meeting is on Wednesday 28th October at 3:45 via Webex.  If you are unable to attend the meeting please contact the school before the start time.

2020 Parent Opinion Survey

WE WANT OUR PARENTS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!

Thank you to the families who have completed the DET Parent Opinion Survey. If you have not yet done so you still have time.

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents think of our school. The Parent Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is conducted amongst all parents. It is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of parents’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, student engagement and experiences of remote and flexible learning. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

All families have been invited to participate in this year’s survey via email. All responses to the survey are anonymous. This year, the Parent Opinion Survey will be conducted from Monday 12th October to Friday 13th November.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in a range of languages other than English. These include: Arabic, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Chin (Hakha), Hindi, Japanese, Somali, Turkish, Punjabi and Greek.

Please contact the office if you would like more information.
