A Word From The Principal

It is great to have everyone back at school. Children skipped, ran and smiled as they returned to school on Monday. Both Mr Bodley and I were at the gate to great all of our children as they ran to meet friends and were so happy to be here. The children have settled back very well apart from one or two little hiccups and it is like they haven't been away. I think the teachers are more tired than the children!

Our main focus this week and for the next few weeks will be settling the children back in to routines and looking after their mental health and wellbeing. Staff have participated in many professional development sessions discussing what to look out for and how to assist any child in need.

Natalie from the Wellbeing Hub was also able to visit some families this week also, keeping physically distanced of course. We know that you have all had many challenges with more to come so if you need to talk to Natalie don't forget to contact her.

I am also excited that I can remove our Remote Learning page. Do not despair though, over the next few months some of the videos that teachers have developed will be put back in order to help you with your child's learning.

We have a very busy term coming up beginning with Footy Day on Wednesday. Know that Collingwood are out it is 'Go Melbourne Storm'.

Have a great weekend,

Kerryn Riley

Messy Art

The Art Room can be a very messy place, especially when using hands is involved. We will be painting for most of the term so if you have a waterproof smock at home, now is the time to send it to school.

Look at our new tables

Our children were really excited when they saw two new outdoor tables upon their return to school. The tables are great to use Lego on and being under the shade gives a cool spot to play when outside on warm days. The senior children used them this morning for an outdoor maths class.

2021 Prep Enroment

Enrolment is open for 2021 Foundation students and transition sessions are well underway. Please contact the office on 9789 3288 for more information.

Footy Day is Coming

We are excited to announce that Footy Day will be on Wednesday 21st October. Dress up in your favourite team colours, whether it be AFL, AFLW, soccer or rugby. We can't wait.

2020 Parent Opinion Survey

Thank you to the families who have completed the DET Parent Opinion Survey. If you have not yet done so you still have time.

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents think of our school. The Parent Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is conducted amongst all parents. It is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of parents’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, student engagement and experiences of remote and flexible learning. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

All families have been invited to participate in this year’s survey via email. All responses to the survey are anonymous. This year, the Parent Opinion Survey will be conducted from Monday 12th October to Friday 13th November.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in a range of languages other than English. These include: Arabic, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Chin (Hakha), Hindi, Japanese, Somali, Turkish, Punjabi and Greek.

Please contact the office if you would like more information.

We Are A Sunsmart School

It is that time of the year when our weather starts to warm up and the UV Rays become harsher. Please remember that when our children return to they will need to be wearing their broad brimmed or bucket hat. Please time time to look for it now.
