A Word From The Principal 2
It was mixed emotions when I listened to Dan Andrew's announcement on the 27th of October.
I was sad that I was still unable to visit my son and his partner who I have not seen in person for quite some time but I shed tears of joy when he said that all of our children could come back to school on Monday. Mr Bodley and I texted each other straight away with happy smiles.
Our on-site children have been so excited this week knowing that they will be able to see all of their friends again, go back into their own classrooms and have their own teacher everyday. It has been very tricky for them with the different expectations of the different staff members supervising them each day.
Expect your children to come home tired and maybe a little frustrated. They have been home for nearly six months apart from the odd week here and they. It will be like beginning a new year for them, getting used to routines both at school and at home, having to complete work within different timelines and really, just getting used to being at school again. We will all need to be patient with them and each other.
Your child's health and wellbeing will be a most important concern. Some of our children have excelled in their learning while at home whereas some children may seem to have not achieved anything. We will be working hard to help them catch up on their missed learning. This will not happen over night, it will take time. If you have any concerns please contact either your child's teacher, Mr Bodley or myself.
Hopefully Monday will be sunny so that the camera can come out so that a lot of welcome back photos can be taken.
I can't wait for Monday.
